Dear Friend,
On November 25th, our youngest daughter, Hope would have turned 40. It’s hard to believe she has been gone for almost 20 years now! This little girl who couldn’t walk or talk touched so many people during her 21 years of life. People continue to tell me how she made an impact on their lives. Not bad for someone who couldn’t verbalize what she was feeling.
To honour Hope’s 40th birthday and continue her legacy, our family is kicking off a “40 for 40” Campaign to raise money for Camp Easter Seal. We are asking all our friends and families to give $40.00 in honour of Hope’s 40th birthday! Of course, if you want to give $140, $240, or $440…we will gladly accept it. Charitable receipts will be issued for donations over $10.00.
Camp Easter Seal is Saskatchewan’s only fully accessible and barrier-free camp located at Little Manitou Lake. Hope attended Camp Easter Seal for many summers and loved it. She was able to do “normal” kid activities for a week every summer. Some activities included swimming, horseback riding, boating, arts and crafts, and many other recreational activities adapted to meet her abilities! When the verbal campers and counselors were singing goofy songs, Hope would kick her feet and get so excited. Sometimes, we thought she would kick herself right out of her wheelchair! Hope always had the biggest smile for the entire week while she was there. Camp Easter Seal is one of a kind and means the world to our family.
We would greatly appreciate your support with this campaign and hope you will consider making a donation to honor what would have been Hope’s 40th birthday.
On behalf of Hope, our family, and all of the campers who are still enjoying the many unique experiences that Camp Easter Seal provides, we thank you for supporting this fundraiser!
