Once upon a time…
there lived a not-so-old man, a not-so-old woman, and a not-so-little boy. Actually, these three were all Brainsport employees—Brian, Lis and Tyler. And rather than baking bread, as the Gingerbread man folktale goes, they were sipping margaritas at Las Palapas.
The Jingle Bell Run had just been canceled, and they had recently opened the doors on their brand new Brainsport location. With a vision to create the world’s best fun run, the three quickly came up with idea for the Gingerbread fun run. Once stumbled upon, the name seemed perfect—it was both a folktale about running and the most delicious winter treat.
Choosing the charity proved just as intuitive. Born with a clubfoot, Brian’s son Oscar received much help and resources from SaskAbilities. SaskAbilities helps people move, the same mandate and mission as Brainsport, making the choice as fitting as white icing on a molasses cookie.
For over six years now, Brainsport's Gingerbread Run has been helping support SaskAbilities programs and services for individuals experiencing disability. It's been a super fun year every year and registration always goes so fast!! Please join us this year as Brainsport has kept everyone's health and safety in mind and is hosting the event with runners choosing their distance and doing their run on their own schedule from November 25-29.
We thank Brainsport very much again this year for hosting this for us and we look forward to seeing everyone participate!
