Celebrating 75 Years Together

Founded 74 years ago, SaskAbilities has evolved from a united vision of families seeking better education, treatment, and services for their loved ones into a province-wide organization supporting over 50,000 individuals experiencing disability annually. Over the next 12 months, SaskAbilities will be honouring the legacy of those founding families, the clients we serve, and the communities we serve them in through various events and activities across the province.
Since 1950, SaskAbilities has seen many changes including expansions of programs and services, new fundraising initiatives, name and logo enhancements, and growth allowing us to serve in communities across the province. As SaskAbilities continues to grow and adapt to the changing needs of the individuals we serve, we remain true to our vision, mission, and values. These guiding principles have kept us deeply rooted to the foundation upon which we were built – family and community.
“If I could travel back in time, I would extend my deepest gratitude to the founding families. Their unwavering courage and relentless pursuit of better opportunities for their loved ones ignited an organization with a vibrant legacy far beyond what they originally envisioned. It was their passion that laid the groundwork for a future filled with hope, possibility, and inclusivity for generations to come.” – Andy Livingston, Board President.
As we embark on an exciting year of celebration, we invite you to join us in commemorating this incredible journey and to participate in the various events and activities taking place across the province including a conference in Regina with keynote speakers Temple Grandin and Madison Tevlin. From engaging community gatherings to debuting a feature video, we will be highlighting the rich history of SaskAbilities, celebrating client stories, and emphasizing the strength of a collective vision aimed at fostering inclusive communities for individuals of all abilities throughout Saskatchewan.
Please watch for detailed announcements about our 75th anniversary celebrations on our website saskabilities.ca which will be released on January 1st. Regular updates can also be expected on our social media platforms so make sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram. We look forward to sharing this milestone with so many who have contributed to the success and longevity of SaskAbilities.
