Snowarama raises $113,680 by 156 riders for individuals experiencing disability

On Saturday, February 8, 2020   snowmobile enthusiasts from all over Saskatchewan met in Yorkton with excitement for a great cause-to raise funds for children and youth experiencing disability.
Snowarama is a fundraising event that combines winter fun and community spirit in support of Easter Seals™ Saskatchewan.  John Denysek, Regional Director of SaskAbilities, Yorkton Branch “We are thrilled about the support we received this again year from the 156 snowmobilers that raised money,  the corporations that gave financial support and prize donations , the volunteers that gave their time, and the media who helped to spread awareness.  The funds raised will help children experiencing disabilities make lifelong friendships while experiencing all the joys of camp without limitations at Camp Easter Seal. Local children will be able to access Summer Fun day camp and many individuals will benefit from Adaptive Technologies improving their quality of life.”

The top three fundraisers are
1) Kenn Propp raising $20,110
2) Lynn Schmidt raising $5,040

3) Bruce Peppler raising $4,000
Platinum sponsors of the event include Yorkton Co-op, Yorkton Sno-Riders, Fox FM, GX94, CTV, Yorkton This Week, The Marketplace, and the Saskatchewan Snowmobiling Association.
The Easters Seals Snowarama funds three programs that are offered and operated by SaskAbilities:  Adaptive Technology Services, Summer Fun, and Camp Easter Seal.  The programs provide self-confidence, independence, and recreational opportunities for individuals experiencing disability in Saskatchewan.
