Volunteer with Summer Fun!

Wanting to make the most of summer? Looking to have fun, meet new people and make a difference in your community? Volunteer with the Summer Fun program!

Summer Fun is a recreation program for youth aged 6 to 22 with physical disabilities that operates Monday to Thursday afternoons in July and August. Youth who experience disability often have fewer opportunities for recreation due to barriers such as accessibility, transportation, preparation requirements, as well as other needs. The Summer Fun program helps to minimize those barriers so individuals of all abilities can participate fully in the community. It also provides children and youth with opportunities to make friends, learn new skills, increase their independence and develop a sense of belonging through shared activities.

Enthusiastic volunteers are what makes this program possible! No previous experience is necessary, just a willingness to participate and learn. Some outings planned for the summer include Pike Lake, the Exhibition, the Saskatoon Forestry Farm and so much more!

If you’re interested in gaining some experience, getting out in to the community and having a lot of fun, contact the Summer Fun coordinators Taylor and Jordyn at 306.717.5495 or summerfun.saskatoon@saskabilities.ca!
