Crisis Prevention and Support Program
Crisis Prevention and Support Program – Yorkton Branch
In collaboration with the Provincial Crisis Support Network, the Crisis and Prevention Support Program is designed to provide innovative, compassionate and client centred supports through a well-trained pool of individuals. The program supports clients experiencing intellectual disabilities with access to preventative measures, education, support and various strategies to reduce crisis. This program is delivered by a two-person team an interventionist and an outreach support worker.
Crisis Support Interventionalist
The crisis support interventionalist develops and implements programming for clients in crisis including behavioural interventions, cognitive approaches and environmental/ecological strategies. This includes organizing and delivering training specific to the client including crisis cycle, reactive strategies and positive programming.
Outreach Crisis Support Worker
The Outreach Crisis Support Worker provides supportive assistance for the physical and emotional well-being of the client by building capacity through role modelling crisis-support strategies. This is achieved through crisis intervention, providing clients with access to community activities and venues.
