International Day of Persons with Disability 2023

Since its inception in 1950, SaskAbilities has been serving individuals experiencing disability in Saskatchewan through the provision of meaningful programs and services. As the annual International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) approaches on December 3rd, we affirm our vision of “Working together to build inclusive communities for people of all abilities.”

The theme for this year’s IDPD, “United in action to rescue and achieve the sustainable development goals for, with, and by persons with disability,” embodies the spirit of unity and purpose, striving to uphold the dignity, rights, and overall well-being of individuals experiencing disability. December 3rd serves as a platform to champion the rights and well-being of individuals experiencing disability throughout the world. Globally, an estimated 1 billion individuals experience disability, each contributing uniquely to our diverse world.

SaskAbilities is proud of its seven-decade legacy of meeting individuals’ needs through the provision of dynamic, client-centred programs and services. Our pursuit of creating inclusive communities throughout Saskatchewan remains at the core of our work.

As December 3rd approaches, let’s join hands in recognizing the International Day of Persons with Disability. Together, let us honour the invaluable contributions made by individuals experiencing disability, fostering a world that embraces diversity and inclusivity.
