Summer Fun is a summer program offered in all branches that provides children and youth experiencing disability the opportunity to experience a variety of community-based, outdoor, and group recreational activities aimed at fostering community inclusion, encouraging social skill development and increasing the self-confidence and self-esteem of participants.
Summer Fun programming runs July and August each summer. Registration fees may be applicable.
Volunteer opportunities
Volunteers are essential to the success of this program. Join our team and be part of providing opportunities for summer fun and learning for children experiencing disability in your community.
Highlight from the Summer Fun Program
Children and youth in the Summer Fun program discovered that sometimes the most memorable moments happen when you least expect it. A potluck in the park on a beautiful summer evening spontaneously turned into an outdoor dance celebration. “It was not planned so we made our own fun that night. Anyone who wanted to dance could join in. Nobody was left out,” explains the Supervisor.
